We have just one more month left, and we will soon bid adieu to 2018. This has been a year of change for our dear NAIFA Federation. This change has been a transition for us all, as we have incrementally and strategically made moves to help support and implement QME. This change was a necessary step in putting our organization in the right direction. I ask you, our revered NAIFA members, to accept our new model and look optimistically to our great future!

We have been given the opportunity to make headway through our new unified dues structure and increased company support. For those involved in membership, this will make your job much easier as you talk to these partner companies. For a list of companies who are partnering with NAIFA, through company paid/subsidized dues or simply marketing and urging NAIFA membership to their advisors, please follow this link.

This new model will allow for increased leadership roles on the local/affiliate level, as well as service on the state level. This is my call to those members who wish to step up in some capacity and serve as a chair or committee member. Have you ever wanted to serve with NAIFA, but never found the time? Perhaps you were a LILI graduate and would like to use your leadership skills for the betterment of NAIFA? Now is your chance. Reach out to your local president or myself if you're interested. As Ghandi said, "Be the change you wish to see."

As we close this year, I'd like to say "Thank You" to my friends in NAIFA. I owe so much to this association. As I reflect on my 15 years in this business, I think about the many colleagues from my local, NAIFA-Fresno, who have selflessly poured into me and made me the financial advisor I am today. I think about my NAIFA friends across California and the United States, that I've had the privilege to meet and serve with. Each of these people have made me a better person, and for that I'm eternally grateful. Charlie “Tremendous” Jones said, “You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.” Well, I've read some fantastic books and through NAIFA I have met some fantastic people and because of it I am changed for the better.
