2017 Distinguished Service Award Recipient

Terry Kaltenbach, CLU, ChFC, CAP

Terry Kaltenbach, CLU, ChFC, CAP was born in Buffalo, Wyoming in 1943 and grew up at a retirement home for soldiers and sailors that his father managed. He graduated with a BA in International Relations from the University of Wyoming, and served 26 years in the U.S. Navy in active and reserves.

Mr. Kaltenbach has been in the industry for 46 years, and specializes in Business and Estate Planning.  He has received his Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant, and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designations. He currently is the president and CEO at Kbach Associates Insurance Services.

Mr. Kaltenbach has been a committed NAIFA member since 1973. He has served the San Diego local in many capacities, including serving as President. He served as NAIFA-California’s President in 1995-96. He was also the local host chair for the NAIFA National Convention in 2006.  A devoted IFAPAC supporter, Mr. Kaltenbach’s lifetime IFAPAC Contributions exceed $50,000. He is listed in the top 15 lifetime contributors nationally. Terry is involved with GAMA (serving as the San Diego GAMA president), AALU (with lifetime contributions to the AALU PAC over $18,000), SFSP and the Estate Planning Council.  He is also the  founder and president of a nonprofit organization that helps with teen suicide, a Docent volunteer on the USS Midway Museum  since January 2016 and a member of the Advisors in Philanthropy Foundation.

Terry and his wife, Linda have been married for 44 years and have a son, Ryan, and grandson, Harrison.
