Keys to Using Language Comfortable for Your Clients

About Our Speaker
Mark Delton

  • Mark has been in the Financial Services Industry for more than 20 years.
  • He began his career as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley. In his first year in the business, he opened 240 accounts and was runner-up nationally for Rookie of the Year. After spending five years in that role, he was promoted to Branch Office Manager for the next 10 years.
  • He then made the jump from retail to wholesaling, serving a dual role as both the Western Division Sales Manager and Northern California Wholesaler for Touchstone Investments.
  • Moving from the mutual fund space to the retirement and annuity area, Mark joined Prudential as the Western Division Sales Manager for Banks and Wires.
  • Continuing his work in the retirement space, Mark joined Protective in 2017 where he runs the Western US Annuity Sales.
  • Mark describes his passion in this business is on the training and development side of the bus, “I have always been fascinated with what separates those who are successful in this business from those who are not, the difference is smaller than you think.”
  • Listening to him you will learn:
    • How to ask for referrals in a manner that is comfortable for the clients as well as yourself.
    • A more effective way of overcoming some of the most common objections, such as when you call a referral and they say, "Thanks for the call, but I am already dealing with three advisors."
  • On a personal side, Mark and his wife Wanda have five children and three dogs between them. He is involved in several philanthropies including Poverello House and NorCal Boxer Rescue. He is a Barbeque Enthusiast, an NFL Draft-ologist and is a practitioner of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Lunch is complimentary for members and first time guests. $15 for all others.
